Inventory Challenge Week 4: Keep, Toss, or Store?

CCC- Ani Outfit
It's finally here! The last week of the inventory challenge! Do your inventories look cleaner?

Mine's still not where I want it to be, but it's sure shaping up! I went through this past week and re-did the previous challenges. This week I'm tackling my hair/clothes and then I'm going to overcome that out of control gesture folder!

My tip for our final week is based on organization principles for RL as well. We only have so much room in our physical closets, and while our virtual closet may seem infinite, at some point, you do accumulate clutter which makes it harder to find what you really want to find.

Inventory Challenge Week 3: Picking an organization scheme

Ohai friends! It's been way too long, and my inventory just keeps getting bigger and bigger! So, if you haven't done any maintenance in the past couple weeks, go back and do the quick checks I described in Week 1 and Week 2 of the Challenge.

Next, we're going to try to setup a semblance of some organization for you. Before we start this part I have a disclaimer: What works for me, may not work for you! I'll share as many ideas as I have, but you have to find a system that works for you.Since I know we all have our own styles of organization, I asked a few brave people to share screenshots of their inventory so I could have some examples. So look through, find one that looks likes yours and go from there!

Calling Hoarders!! - Inventory Challenge Week 2

Week one of our inventory clean-up challenge started with cleaning out some easy to find items. Two more "easys" came up in the comments that you might add to your list: Demo and Object. I will caution, if you're a builder, you might actually check those objects before mass deleting.... and while you're at it, give yourself a lecture on naming items as you rez them :P This week I went on a total shopping spree (Ohai Truth Hair and Babydolls!), so my number went up (39821). But there's a way do some damage control even if our inventories keep growing.

Cleaning my Closet! 4 week challenge to a cleaner, tidier inventory

Outfit: White Cat by Larnia Kids
Did you know huge inventories are more at risk to lose items than those that aren't as unwieldy? (okay, this is anecdotal only, but it's what I've noticed)

How big is YOUR inventory? Mine has 38,644 items today.... and it's a disaster!

Despite continued efforts, our inventories can get crammed full of stuff we don't need. This hurts our load times, the ability to find what we want, and increases the potential to lose inventory. This can really stink when we've spent good L$ on our stuff! We want to be able to find and use all 30K of those items!

So, for the next 4 weeks, I'm going to share with you some tips on how to start taking that unwieldy inventory and making it just a little more manageable.

The Monster Mash

Bentham Manor's Haunted House
Are you all getting ready for halloween? I sure am! It's one of my favorite holidays! I don't like really scary things, but I like scary that doesn't scare me. This week I'm taking you to Bentham Manor. This haunted house/forest is full of Halloween suprises and best of all, you can buy almost anything on the sim to take home and make your own haunted place. My sissy, Riley, went with me. We both agreed that there's  some scariness in the haunted house..if you don't like clowns, or scary imagery, I recommend you don't go upstairs in it. However, the rest of the space, including the forest has "fun scary" with ghosts, evil trees, and reapers who want to steal your soul!

It's Autumn Time at Runestone

I love autumn! It doesn't really happen where I live in RL (we have hot, and less hot), so when I stumbled on the Runestone sim, I fell in love with the gorgeous autumn theme. This sim is perfect for taking pictures or just exploring and hanging out with family. The sim is rated M, but I didn't find anything in my adventures to indicate that it wasn't appropriate for kids.

The sim is full of beautiful autumn-like nature, including adorable squirrels, golden leaves, pumpkins and hay-fields. I encourage exploration to find all the gems!

Somewhere over the Rainbow

This week we're off to see the wizard as I share with you A Journey through Oz, a build based off the book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, and the popular movie, The Wizard of Oz. The build is interactive, full of great surprises and pretty places and a perfect family outing! The creators, 1daisy Short & Sammi Sosa, deserve many kudos for their hard work. I think the pictures speak for themselves today!
Ahh! Tornado!!

Have you ever thrown a fistful of glitter in the air?

A Glitterific Look of the Day!
I wanted to share this adorable look with you all today! My outfit is one of TEN new releases at Inner Peace this week! Isn't it adorable? I just love the sparkly heart, the prim accessories- sleeves, shirt, bangles, and those adorable shoes with layered socks.
I also love this new hair!  This style from Magika (at the Hair Fair) is so perfect for me - because when I was a RL kid, I always had my hair in my mouth. It reminded me of that terrible habit that it took forever to break, haha! A warning- it does require a little modding to get the hair to fit in the mouth just right.

When life hands you lemons....

0I say it's time to open a lemonade stand! This week, there's an adorable new release at DORK's, by dork Melodie- it's the most perfect, beautiful Lemonade Stand! You can serve lemonade, sweep up after, and just chill out.

It also includes three adorable crates for sitting with friends to sip lemonade or just hang out together. The texturing on these is exquisite and the detailing is just amazing. I have to give dork major applause for this beautiful build.

Be sure to checkout the cute outfits I found today as well...I hear all of them happen to be on sale for 50L!

Back to School in Style

So this week marked the beginning of the SL school-year for me. I packed my lunch, fixed my own hair and got ready to ride the bus to my new class. I was sooo excited! I love the excitement of going to school again. Now the actual going to class... I think I gotta work on that!

All eyes on me in the center of the ring just like a circus

Raise your hand if you love the circus too! There's something amazing about the energy at a circus. The animals, the performers, the clowns and my favorite of all... the peanuts!
This week's family field trip is the circus at Jeaniesing's Things. Here's the best part of this circus... the creator, Jeaniesing Trilling, also sells all her creations so you can take them home and have your own personal circus!
Jeaniesing has made it all- from human cannonballs (kids, trust me, this is SO fun!) to the trapeze, to the tight rope, there's plenty of activities here to give your momma a heart attack!

Alice the Camel has two humps...so go Alice go! (Zoo Neunkirchen)

*Swivels in chair and grins widely* Hello dearies! I get to share part of the exciting news that Riley and Frannie have hinted about... and part of that news is ME! I’ll be joining this group of delightful girlies every Wednesday. *bounces a little* In case you cannot tell, I am very excited!
I’ve love to explore and find amazing places and now I get to share the fabulous kid and family friendly places I discover with you.  I also have my own strange sense of style which I’ll give you a taste of each week as well. A little about me, I just love pink sparkly things along with anything bright and colorful. I’ll wear dresses, but I don’t mind jumping in puddles while wearing them. Momma tends to yell at me about that! I'm pretty shy and a total geek, but I love to be silly around those who I know well.
This week I went to one of the coolest places I’ve been in a while. A ZOO!
